The trail involves a continuous alternation of woods and lava flows, until we reach one of the most impressive lava fields on Etna: the Dammusi Pass.
The excursion, at an altitude of 1700 meters, will be on the pahoehoe lavas, also known as rope lavas. These lava fields originated during a 10 year long eruption. Crossing a lava path we can reach the “Grotta dei Lamponi” with its recast stalactides and a beautiful view on the sky.
After exploring the cave, the descent begins, which is fun and very fast. In the last part of the trail you will still admire unique volcanic landscapes and green oases called “dagale”.
At the end of this experience you will return to “Fucina di Vulcano” resort hotel and have a dinner based on local products.
