“Fucina di Vulcano” is located within the naturalistic oasis of the Etna National Park and has always taken care of the environment by choosing – day after day – to undertake conscious and sustainable actions.
Our resort is adopting the following environmental measures:
- The use of renewable energies: the presence of two photovoltaic systems on the roofs helps us sustain the hotel’s consumption;
- The reduction of environmental impact thanks to recycling and the choice of non-polluting materials and products, as well as the avoidance of the dispersion of pollutants in the air;
- The scrupulous observation of waste oil and spent battery collection protocols;
- Energy saving due to the reduction of the total amount of energy required, thanks to structural measures such as window and door frames, exterior insulation and finishing systems, and LED lighting;
- The production of sustainable products: our chefs pay attention to buying zero-km raw materials, with limited use of plastic packagings and that they comply with production protocols;
- The promotion of biodiversity through an organic garden that provides the raw material in the summer;
- The reduction of the use of plastic and paper: we implement daily actions aimed at promoting the use of digital systems and recycled paper;
- The use of products with eco-friendly packagings in our rooms;
- Raising awareness of moderate use of towels and lighting in rooms.
